Dive bomber pushups are a great exercise for building flexibility and strength. Like a Hindu pushup, in a dive bomber pushup you arch your back, slide your chest across the ground as if going under a fence, and finish in an “upward dog” position. Unlike a Hindu pushup, in which you go under the fence on the return to the starting position, in a dive bomber pushup you press yourself back to the starting position.
This page has a good explanation of how to do dive bomber pushups vs. Hindu pushups.
*Update* – a reader pointed out this distinction about this variation of pushups: “I just wanted to point out one error in the dive bomber pushup demo. The dive bomber pushup has the elbows bend the down and up movments. The pushup in the demo is sometimes referred to as a Hindu or tiger bend pushup. It is a slight variation.”
